For Tiger Woods, being that far from the top of the leader board after the first round is not a good sign.
In his six previous Opens as a pro, Woods, 27, won twice as a front-runner.
In four other Opens, he contended only in 1999 at Pinehurst No. 2, when he tied for third after a 68 in the first round.
In winning two Opens, three Masters, one British Open and two PGA Championships, Woods has never come from behind in the final round.
