Cheer on slippery yellow bathtub buddies Sunday at St. Coletta’s of Illinois’ “Luck o’ the Duck” rubber ducky race at the White Water Canyon Water Park in Tinley Park.
Participants can adopt a chubby rubber friend from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at the fundraiser for $5 each or a flock of six for $25 and watch them swim around the lazy river at the water park, 8125 W. 171st St.
Ducks will be assigned a number matching an adoption certificate. If your duck is the fastest swimmer, a victory could win you a $5,000 savings bond or one of several other cash prizes ranging from $50 to $1,000, all courtesy of Palos Bank and Trust.
Leave your soap in the locker room and jump into the pool with the ducks for an extra $1.50 and stay until the pool closes at 8 p.m. To adopt a duck, call 708-342-5242.
