Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

With the music industry turning over rocks to find new sales, one slick company came up with a novel marketing idea: mix pop with pop.

The next time moviegoers take a sip from their sodas, many will look down and see pop singer Rachel Farris gazing back at them from a mini-CD embedded in the lid.

The disc features two songs from Farris’ debut album, “Soak,” that can be played on regular CD players, as well as lyrics, interviews and a music video that can be viewed on computers.

Farris’ independent label, Big3 Records, with the help of discmaker LidRock, began giving away the promo mini-CDs at movie theaters and theme parks nationwide on Friday. In all, 4.8 million of the CDs will be distributed in a monthlong campaign.
