One of hip-hop’s busiest groups, the Roots, is getting busier. Lead MC Black Thought will play a parolee in Showtime’s “Street Time,” which premieres Aug. 6. The group’s Ahmir ” estlove” Thompson and producer Barry Cole will be the show’s musical supervisors.
