As a fan of both the White Sox and “The Simpsons,” I find a disturbing similarity between Jerry Manuel and Homer: The latter keeps hitting himself in the head with a hammer, while the former continues bringing in Billy Koch to hold a ninth-inning lead.
The difference seems to be that Homer Simpson eventually catches on.
