Toyota Motor Corp. will invest $20 million to double engine output and add V-6 output at its Huntsville, Ala., plant starting in 2005. The plant now produces 125,000 4.7-liter V-8 engines annually for the Tundra pickup truck and will add 125,000 units of an as-yet unspecified size V-6 for Tundra as well as the midsize Tacoma pickup. Meanwhile, Ford Motor Co. said it will build a new V-6 engine for its Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles at its plant in northwest Ohio starting in 2006.
