Basketball Hall of Famer Earvin “Magic” Johnson will be the new spokesman for Lincoln-Mercury as the Ford Motor Co. division seeks to attract younger buyers. The average Lincoln buyer is older than 60. Johnson, 43, is well-known among Baby Boomers as a basketball star who won a collegiate championship at Michigan State in 1979, five titles with the Los Angeles Lakers in the 1980s and an Olympic gold medal in 1992. Ford did not disclose financial terms of the deal.
