Your story “Eh, toro! America’s first female matador fights to `pave the road for others'” (Woman News, July 16) is really a misrepresentation of what bull-“fighting” is all about. Bullfighting is not a glamorous or benign form of entertainment. It is, in fact, a violent and sadistic spectacle that allows the torturous killing of a bull.
Are women supposed to rejoice because they can participate in this barbarity?
This article is an insult to women’s intelligence.
