Michael J. Guinan, 68, a prominent Chicago attorney, passed away Sunday, July 20. He graduated from Mount Carmel High School on Chicago’s south side, where he led the football team to city championship. He studied at U. of I. and DePaul U. Law School. After a successful law practice, he turned his talents to writing about his career as a criminal defense attorney. His first book received rave reviews. Michael will be remembered for his helpfulness, a trait that permeated every aspect of his life. He is survived by loving son Mike Jr.; daughter Michelle; loving cousin Mary Margaret Haugh; loving friend Sara Stephens. Visitation 12 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 27, Countryside Funeral Home, 333 S.
