On Sunday, 51 days before the Oct. 7 recall election of Calif. Gov. Gray Davis, Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante suggested Davis aides are sabotaging the Democrats’ best hopes for holding onto power in California, and Republican candidate Bill Simon Jr. said there’s no way he’ll drop out to avoid splitting the conservative GOP vote.
He’s got the lips
Contrary to Davis’ cold image, he’s quite “a good kisser,” according to none other than Cybil Shepherd. The Hollywood actress says they had a passionate tumble on a beach in Hawaii some 36 years ago, when she was 16 and he was 24. “We were covered in sand, but we were never lovers,” Shepherd told the San Francisco Chronicle.
Sunday’s quote
“People are already talking about recalling the NEXT governor. When does this stop?”
–Cruz Bustamante on
“Meet the Press,”
saying Californians should unify behind whoever wins
the recall election.
