I found your article “Military, media meet off battlefield to debate war coverage” (Tempo, Aug. 18) to be very disturbing. Basically it seems that while we can get images of bombing victims in Israel, we will never see similar tragedy from the Iraq war because audiences don’t want to see it. That seems contradictory given that the No. 1 movie two weekends agowas the blood-and-guts “Freddy vs. Jason.” I guess as long as it remains senseless and we can’t somehow be connected to it, violence is OK. It is just inappropriate if it happens to be the innocent victims of a misrepresented war.
