I was appalled to read “Fugitive father defends fight against treatment” (News, Sept. 2).
This father was charged with kidnapping his son in Utah because he did not want to give his son chemotherapy for cancer that was unconfirmed.
I am assuming that they have good medical insurance. I’m not sure that the hospital would be so fast to treat the child if they had no insurance. When did the medical profession become so powerful that it becomes a crime to choose treatment or no treatment?
And isn’t this scary?
