Darryl “DMC” McDaniels has a newfound love of the classics–classic rock, that is.
The Run-D.M.C. member has been listening to Creedance Clearwater Revival, Pink Floyd and the Rolling Stones as he works on his solo debut, “Checks, Thugs and Rock & Roll.”
“The music isn’t old to me because I never heard it before,” says DMC, who is currently unsigned and wants to launch his own label.
“I’m a little older now. I want to be the Bruce Springsteen, Roy Orbison of music. I’m going to keep rapping, but I want to try to make it better for everybody.”
