The oldest player in the NHL will play one final season. Igor Larionov, a Russian who turns 43 in December, signed a one-year contract with the New Jersey Devils. Joe Nieuwendyk left the Devils with a hole at center when he signed with the Toronto Maple Leafs this week.
– Jean-Sebastien Giguere, whose goaltending carried Anaheim to the Stanley Cup finals, agreed to a four-year contract.
