H&M opens its doors to Chicagoans on Friday, and RedEye got a sneak peak inside the monstrous 840 N. Michigan Ave. store at a pre-opening party Wednesday.

Inside the big, bright box of a store, H&M-branded clothing and accessories await you, delivering on the retailer’s promise of cheap chic. You can find the essentials of this fall’s wardrobe–from Stella McCartney-inspired silk silver tank tops ($25!) to Gucci-like black hats ($7.50!) to white hardware-heavy handbags ($12!).

Or brave Chicago’s cold in a faux fur coat ($79) and an extra-long, striped knit scarf ($9.90). H&M opens to the public at noon Friday, but be prepared to fight for a fitting room. No doubt the style-starved will be ravenous.
