– The Chicagoland Thunderbirds will host an all Thunderbird car show from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Buss Ford, 111 S. Route 31, McHenry. The show will feature vintage and late-model Thunderbirds. – The 10th annual Corvette Funfest will be held Saturday and Sept. 21 at Mid America Designs on U.S. Highway 45, 2 miles north of Interstates 57 and 70, in Effingham, Ill. The festival, sponsored by the downstate parts supplier, will honor the Corvette on its 50 anniversary with a car show, helicopter rides, a concert and tours of Mid America’s Corvette collection. – More than 75 vehicles are expected Sept. 21 for the third annual antique car show at the Plymouth Place retirement community, 315 N. La Grange Road, La Grange. – The BMW Car Club Foundation of America is bringing its Street Survival teen driving safety program to Glenview Sept. 28. The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Northeastern Illinois Public Safety Training Academy, 2300 Patriot Blvd. Open to driversage 16 to 19, the program will include classroom instruction and driving on a closed, wet parking lot to let teens experience emergency situations.
