For those of us with a family and a place to call home, it is hard to imagine what life would be like without either one. Just ask the youth at Maryville Academy. It is their home–perhaps the only home they have ever known. These children, so bruised and battered over the years, deserve to be treated with dignity and respect–not bounced around, again and again, by a state bureaucracy that claims to have their best interest at heart. A child’s spirit is a terrible thing to break. Gov. Rod Blagojevich should be their advocate and keep Maryville open.
