An editorial on Sept. 23 preached against teen binge drinking. This is the same newspaper that published in the breezy Friday section on Sept. 12 a list of favorite spots for Chicago-area college students to eat, drink, etc. (“Guide to college life; Eat, drink and study; Students’ favorites”). Since only a fraction of college students are old enough to legally drink (age 21), it’s puzzling why the Tribune feels compelled to compile such a catalog and 11 days later take a strong and well-advised stand against teen binge drinking.
