A Russian man likely wishes he had resigned himself to having stained trousers after an attempt to purge a stubborn paint splotch destroyed his apartment.
The unnamed Muscovite added a liter of gasoline to his washing machine to help dissolve the stain, the Itar-Tass news agency reported Monday, but the ensuing explosion wrecked his kitchen and demolished two walls.
Police confirmed there had been an explosion in a southeastern Moscow apartment, but would not state the cause.
