Wishing to intensify Palatine’s downtown revitalization, the Village Council unanimously voted Thursday to make that the village manager’s only responsibility.
Michael Cassady will hand over day-to-day responsibilities of running the village to his assistant, Reid Otteson, who will be promoted to deputy assistant manager.
Cassady, who has spent the last five years as village manager, will remain in the new job until his contract expires next June.
