In their last two games against the Irish, USC has scored 89 points, 45 Saturday and 44 last season. Those totals mark the most points USC has scored on Notre Dame since 1974 when the Trojans won 55-24 in coach Ara Parseghian’s penultimate game at the helm. . . . USC had two players gain 100 yards receiving–Keary Colbert finished with 120 and Mike Williams had 112. The last time a team had two 100-yard receivers in a game against Notre Dame was Oct. 16, 1999, when the Trojans’ Windrell Hayes (107) and R. Jay Soward (101) did it. . . .

Notre Dame sophomore tight end Anthony Fasano caught his first career touchdown pass in the first quarter, his 2-yard diving reception tying the game 14-14. . . . USC’s victory snaps Notre Dame’s seven-game home winning streak against Pac-10 schools. . . . The Irish lost consecutive home games for the first time since Sept. 9, 2000, when Notre Dame lost its season opener in overtime to top-ranked Nebraska 27-24 after having lost its last home game the previous season 31-29 to Boston College. . . . USC’s 45 points were the second most by a visiting team at Notre Dame Stadium, behind Purdue, which beat the Irish 51-19 on Oct. 1, 1960. . . . Trojans QB Matt Leinart, who threw four TD passes Saturday, tied a record eight other players share for most touchdown passes vs. Notre Dame. The last to reach that mark was Leinart’s predecessor at USC, Carson Palmer, who did it Nov. 30, 2002.
