Chances are you couldn’t miss Fox’s promos of this season’s “Joe Millionaire” and new series “Skin” during the World Series.

Chances are you did miss the shows.

Monday’s premieres drew 6.6 million and 6.5 million people, respectively, a flop considering Fox drew more than 20 million people to three of its baseball games in the past weeks, peaking with 27.5 million who watched the seventh game of the Yankees-Red Sox series. (The finale of Fox’s first faux “Millionaire” drew 40 million viewers.)

A Fox exec told the AP the network was “disappointed” and doesn’t know what happened. Here’s a clue: A joke isn’t funny once everyone knows the punch line.
