Britax Child Safety is recalling 2,689 Super Elite child-safety seats model number E9031 because they don’t meet federal standards. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says tests showed the seats could allow a child’s head to move forward too far in a crash. The seats were made between April 25, 2001, and Feb. 15, 2002. Britax will mail a free repair kit to owners who have returned registration cards. Owners who haven’t should call 888-4BRITAX or visit www.britaxusa.com.
