John O’Neill, a longtime resident of Park Forest, passed away Nov. 3, beloved husband of Anne, nee Marciss, O’Neill; loving father of Anne O’Neill of Hazel Crest, Margaret Gordon of Glenwood and William O’Neill of Park Forest; dear grandfather of Monica and Michael Gordon of Glenwood; also survived by his dear sister, Mary O’Neill Kettelhut of Duluth, MN and dear brother of the late Catherine O’Neill Freedman and the late William O’Neill. He was retired from the Park Forest Postal Service after 15 years. John was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Church. He was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #1198 in Park Forest and the V.F.W. in Peotone. Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 6, 2 to 9 p.m. at Lain-Sullivan Funeral Home, 50 Westwood Drive, Park Forest, IL. Funeral Service will be Friday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church, 212 Monee Rd., Park Forest. Interment at Abe Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. Info, 708-747-3700.
