There are roughly 15,000 homeless men, women and children in Chicago preparing to brave another harsh winter. That figure is numbingly high, but if there’s any consolation, it’s that they’re not alone. There are thousands of volunteers and donors who give their time, money and food to help those who cannot help themselves. RedEye takes a look at some of Chicago’s army of helpers.
