Tuesday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day, a federal holiday saluting those who have served in the military. The following services will be affected:
Schools: Public schools in Chicago and many suburban districts will be closed.
Government offices: All city, county, state and federal offices will be closed.
Mail: Will not be delivered.
Courts: Federal, state and some county courts will be closed. Cook County will hold holiday Bond Court at noon.
Banks: Will be closed.
Financial markets: Will be open on a limited schedule.
Meters: This is not a parking holiday.
Public transportation: CTA, Pace and Metra will operate on normal weekday schedules.
