The next challenge for the Wildcats’ resurgent defense is Michigan running back Chris Perry, who will come with the Wolverines to Ryan Field Saturday. The 6-foot-1-inch, 228-pound senior has rushed for a Big Ten best 1,313 yards on 259 carries (5.1 average), has caught 32 passes for 261 more yards and scored 13 touchdowns. “He’s a mixture of a lot of different Michigan backs we’ve seen in the past,” Wildcats safety Torri Stuckey said. “He has the strength and the power of (current Bear) Anthony Thomas. Be he’s also pretty fast. He can hit a hole and be gone for a touchdown.” . . . NU running back Jason Wright plans to play Saturday, but is not going to practice this week. He still is nursing the sprained ankle he suffered against Wisconsin on Oct. 25 and thinks rest will serve him best.
