Since CBS pulled the Reagan miniseries, irate readers have sent letters with words and phrases such as “unconscionable,” “right-wing standards,” “slippery slope,” “McCarthyism,” “culture of fear.”

Reading between the lines, the actual message is: We are angry at being deprived of the opportunity of seeing a hatchet job on Ronald Reagan.

You can bet every dollar you own on this: If a truly fair and balanced series about Bill Clinton appeared on prime-time TV, those same people would be apoplectic.
