Smells like Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic has a nose for public office. The band’s co-founder says he may run for Washington state lieutenant governor.
And don’t accuse him of Arnoldism: Novoselic is already active in Democratic party circles, and he’s consulting with party leaders about challenging two-term Lt. Gov. Brad Owen, also a Democrat.
“I’ve been really contemplating how I want to get involved next year and make a contribution,” Novoselic told The Seattle Times. “It’s going to be a big year, and I’m trying to find a way to fit into it.”
The news comes as more details come to light about the paperback version of Kurt Cobain’s “Journals.” The paperback, released Nov. 10, contains 14 new pages of material, including an extended narrative about a semi-fictional serial killer, according to Billboard. It also contains a cookie recipe and a previously unpublished list of Cobain’s favorite albums (including releases from the Stooges, Pixies, Rites of Spring, Butthole Surfers and Sonic Youth).
On the cover are Cobain’s handwritten words, “if you read, you’ll judge.”
