Thank you, Mike Downey. Finally, I read three columns about the Bears that display both a level of intelligence and an I-don’t-know-it-all attitude. His columns about Dick Jauron (it’s not his fault), the reasons the Bears lost to the Rams (it’s a game of inches) and Rex Grossman (he should play against the Cardinals if the Bears lose to the Broncos) were outstanding without the in-your-face vindictiveness of most sports columnists.
These columns may not appeal to the angry Bears fans who have never played the game and want immediate gratification, but he understands that the Bears have only modest talent and much inexperience.
