For a change, pass-interference penalties helped the Bears. In the second quarter, Broncos cornerback Lenny Walls interfered with Marty Booker that resulted in a
45-yard penalty. The Bears got a 23-yard Paul Edinger field goal on that drive. In the fourth quarter, Walls struck again when he interfered with David Terrell on third-and-8. That resulted in a 21-yard penalty that led to Edinger’s 47-yard insurance field goal.
A THOUGHT: Anthony Thomas routinely comes out on third downs for Rabih Abdullah, but with the way Thomas picked up the blitz on one first-down pass Sunday, it might not be necessary. Thomas nailed linebacker Al Wilson and bought Stewart an extra second on a pass that fell incomplete.
BREATHING EASY: The light air agreed with kicker Paul Edinger. In addition to breaking out of his slump with four field goals, he recorded his first touchback of the season at the start of the second half.

Bears’next
vs. Arizona (3-8)
Sunday: Lost at home
vs. St. Louis, 30-27 OT.
Who’s hot: QB Jeff Blake threw for 192 yards and two TDs. Cards made it a game before losing in overtime.
Outlook: Arizona only lost by three to the Rams, who beat the Bears by two. So, give the Bears a point there. And another for playing at Soldier Field. Another win and the delirious Bears playoff talk grows louder.
