Mary Jo “Jo Jo” Lenert, 75, died peacefully in her home on Friday, November 28, 2003, after a short but valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Chicago, and moved to Naperville as a child. While growing up in Naperville she became an accomplished horse woman. She attended St. Xavier University and majored in nursing. Throughout her extraordinary life she touched many people and accomplished many things. She was the first Naperville volunteer at the Chicago Erie St. Settlement House; had her real estate license; was vice-president and president of Lenert Plumbing; was a trustee at North Central College; and was a philanthropist who also volunteered for several charity organizations. Her life was full of many world travels, all of which included family and friends. Since her retirement, she split her time among Naperville, Simi Valley, CA and Scottsdale, AZ. She is survived by four daughters, Pam of Naperville, Sandy Jo (Nick) MacArthur of Simi Valley, CA, Julie (Rob) Kabat of Naperville and Shelley (Sheldon) Johnson of Scottsdale, AZ; six grandchildren, Cody and Hayley Jo MacArthur, Channing Lenert, Nicole and Jessica Kabat and Austin Johnson; a sister, Lee Ann Sigler and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley and Agnes Brocker and her beloved husband Richard. Visitation will take place Monday, December 1 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 516 S. Washington St., Naperville. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, December 2, at 9:30 a.m., at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Interment will follow at Ss.
