Robert A. Dexter, 68, of South Elgin, formerly of Chicago, passed away Sunday, Nov. 30, 2003 in Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. He was born Oct. 11, 1935 in Chicago. He was an Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ryerson Tull after many years of employment. Beloved husband of Carol, nee DeValle; loving father of Suzanne (Pat) Edwards, Robert (Theresa) Dexter, Debra (Brian) Lang, Denise (Mark) Delhaye, John (Christi) Gerard and Nicole (Timothy) Coutee; grandfather of 15; great-grandfather of two; son-in-law of Rose DeValle. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2003 in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 215 Thomas More Dr., Elgin. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Laird Funeral Home, Elgin and at church on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass.
