Robert W. Gallagher, age 77, of LaGrange, US Army Air Corp. Veteran during WW II, Korean War and Illinois National Guard. Beloved husband of 54 years to June, nee Goebbert; loving father of Donna (Larry) Mayfield, Patricia (John) Cheeseman, John R., Andrew and the late James (Susan); cherished grandfather of 10; proud great-grandfather of two; dear brother of John D. Gallagher; uncle to many nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews; survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; preceded in death by his parents; a brother, the late Carson (the late Georgene) Gallagher; and a granddaughter, the late Kimberly. Mr. Gallagher was a 23 year employee of Barnstead/Labline Instruments in Melrose Park. Member of Grace Lutheran Church of LaGrange for over 50 years, past commander of the VFW Post #5163, member of the American Legion and Illinois Police Associations. Visitation Thursday 3 to 9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Will lie in state on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church of LaGrange, 200 N. Catherine Ave., LaGrange Park, IL.
