Our extended Thanksgiving visit with our four daughters and son-in-law was filled with many meals, lots of laughing and a whole lot of love. As our children departed Sunday on airplanes bound for Colorado, Arizona and New York, the house was quiet and I sat down to read Howard Reich’s “Prisoner of her past.” The story took my breath away. Reich told a very important story–brilliantly written, clearly deserving of a Pulitzer. Thank you for this heart-wrenching story, one that I am sure was excruciating to tell. It not only made me realize that for Holocaust survivors, their nightmare never ends; it also gave me a whole new definition of Thanksgiving.
