Dr. Philip Kulkoff, husband of Dolores, nee Hafner, of Glencoe, IL; father of Seth (Elizabeth Snyder) Kulkoff and Robert Kulkoff; brother of Beryl Fischer; grandfather of Hannah Kulkoff, Julia Kulkoff and Ian Kulkoff. Dr. Kulkoff was the former Associate Vice President for Continuing Education, Columbia College, in Chicago. He served as Chair of the English Dept. from 1986 to 1999, and it was in this capacity that he was responsible for the creation of the first AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE-INTERPRETER TRAINING BACCALAUREATE PROGRAM in the State of Illinois. He was also responsible for starting Columbia’s first Writing Across The Curriculum Program. He received a Fulbright Lectureship in American Literature to the University of Bucharest.
