My 6-year-old daughter’s elementary school had its annual winter festival recently. The school has this excellent tradition each year during holiday time when kids from kindergarten through 4th grade sing Christmas and Hanukkah songs.
This year the school had a peace song as a grand finale.
All the schoolchildren together sang for peace in the world.
As an introduction to the finale, the kids said the song was in dedication to the men and women in the armed forces who could not be with their families for this festive holiday season.
I appreciate the thoughtful minds of these little kids and the school organizers for the appreciation they show for our men and women who put their lives on the line so that we all can celebrate our holidays in peace.
We all need to take a clue from these little hearts:
As we celebrate and share our joys with family and friends this season, we should keep our soldiers in our prayers and pray for their safe return.
