Lois M. Rief, died on Dec. 5, 2003 after a brief illness. Lois was born in Chicago, moved to Palm Beach with her family in 1951, and recently moved to Tampa. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank J. Rief Jr.; she is survived by her sons and their wives, Sandy and Didi of Tampa, and John and Exa of Raleigh, NC; grandmother of Elizabeth, Katherine, John Daniel and Kimberly; stepgrandson, Chris; and sister of Jean. She was an avid golfer for over 70 years and had been the Ladies Champion at South Shore Country Club in Chicago; Flossmoor Country Club in Flossmoor, IL; the Everglades Club and the Breakers Golf Club in Palm Beach. She was a member of Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea. A family celebration of Lois’s life will be held at a later date.
