Anthony ‘Tony’ J. Ramicone, age 71, of 782 Indigo Village Ct, died Wednesday December 3, 2003 at Newhanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. Memorial service will be conducted on Thursday at the Chapel of St. James Plantation. Mr. Ramicone was born January 9, 1932 in Chicago, IL; son of the late Joseph (Carmella, nee Bagnola) Ramicone; later relocated to Greensboro, Wilmington, then Southport, NC. Mr. Ramicone was a veteran of the U.S. Military were he served in Korea; started his working career as a professional golfer and later worked in marketing. He was currently a PGA designated golf professional at St. James Plantation; one of his loves was working with children involved in Special Olympics. Tony also enjoyed cooking for his friends and family. Survivors include his wife Joy MacDonald Ramicone; son Jim (Heddy) Ramicone of Columbia, SC; two grandchildren Anthony and Austin Ramicone; brother James Ramicone; sister Joanne Geever.
