Dr. Lawrence T. McCarthy, age 82, of Kettering, formerly of Panama, FL and Wheaton, IL, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2003 at Hospice of Dayton. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian A. McCarthy on March 6, 2002. He was a dentist for over 40 years in Lombard, IL. He graduated from Notre Dame University and Northwestern University and retired in 1985. He was a Veteran of WWII and the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. He is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Kathleen (Michael) Ahalt of Centerville, Maureen McCarthy, OSF of Milwaukee, WI and Terese McCarthy of Palos Hills, IL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lawrence J. McCarthy of Carol Stream, IL and Justin (Middy) McCarthy of Champaign, IL; five grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, James (Smiley) McCarthy of Oak Brook, IL. Mass of the Resurrection will be held 12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 12, 2003 at St. Albert the Great Catholic Church, 3033 Far Hills Ave., with Father Martin Fox officiating. Burial will follow in Panama City, FL. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m., at the Routsong Funeral Home, 81 N. Main St., Centerville.
