Edward Cooney, 58, died on December 3 in St. Cloud, Florida, recently remarried Noordina, nee Bashah, formerly of Evanston, graduated Oak Park River Forest High School where he played baseball and won a scholarship to Yankton College in South Dakota, earned a degree in Psychology and Physical Education, returned to Illinois and taught in most of Evanston elemetary schools for over 24 years. He is also survived by his son Edward Cooney and Danielle Cooney, nee Bowers; stepmother Irene (Mickey) DiMaria; sisters Karen Cooney, Diane (Darrell) Grigsby; stepbrothers David Atkinson, Paul Butler, stepsisters JoAnne (Ken) Murphy, Geri Atkinson; fond brother-in-law to Kitty Cooney, former wife Susan Cooney, nee Minaghan; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
