Ronald J. McDermott, 59, died Saturday, December 6, 2003, in Naples, Florida. Ron was formally of Chicago and resided in Romeoville, IL, and Monticello, IN. Ron was a giving, charitable, and witty person. He owned and operated Optimum Paper Products, in Romeoville, IL. He was also a co-proprietor of Peppercorn’s Restaurant in Monticello, IN. He was always the most generous and loving father to his children, Jennifer K. McDermott Chinino and Geoffrey T. McDermott, both of Oak Forest, IL. He was a “Favorite” father-in-law to Brian Chinino. He was a loving son to Harriette McDermott Cieslak and the late Thomas J. McDermott Sr.; and a loving brother to the late Thomas J. McDermott II. He is also survived by a beloved sister, Kathy McDermott Striupas, as well as a sister, Maureen McDermott Baumann. He was cherished by Jason Anderson and Sherri Marcum, with whom he shared a special bond. His family would like to express their gratitude to the paramedics and ICU staff at Cleveland Clinic Florida Naples Hospital, and Fuller Funeral Home Cremation Service in Naples, FL, for their compassion and care. A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Frankfort, IL, on December 18, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions are asked to Riley’s Children’s Hospital c/o Riley’s Foundation, 702 Varn Hill Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46202 in Ron’s memory. Ron was loved by many and will be missed by all.
