Robert Broday, 80, co-founder and president of a temporary labor business for almost 50 years, died Saturday, Dec. 13, at Highland Park Hospital of a stroke. A longtime Highland Park resident, Mr. Broday was born in Chicago and grew up in East Rogers Park. He graduated from Sullivan High School and attended the University of Illinois before enlisting in the Navy during World War II. After serving in the South Pacific, he returned to the university, where he met his future wife, Sue. They were married in 1948. Mr. Broday started All-Work Inc. in Chicago with his two brothers in 1954. The business placed about 200 people a day in temporary office, secretarial and day laborer jobs, his wife said. “He saw a need as industry started to grow in Chicago,” said his daughter, Beth Gotler. “He was very entrepreneurial.” He later ran the company on his own. His son, James, joined the firm as a vice president in 1985. Other survivors include a brother, Albert, and two grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd., Skokie.
