Cause-related shopping–buying products from companies that return a portion of proceeds to charitable causes–will be high on philanthropic to-do lists of Americans this holiday season, says a November survey of 1,027 adults.
Percent saying they plan to:
Donate personal belongings: 77%
Purchase a product in which a percentage of the price is donated to cause: 60%
Buy from a retailer that supports a cause: 55%
Write a check to support a cause: 53%
Volunteer: 42%
Go to a fundraising event: 30%
