Harold A. Brettmann, 76, a lifelong Elmhurst resident, beloved husband of Ruth, nee Ewald; fond father of Judy (Dave) Morrison, Sharon (Bob) Bilbrey and Hal (Sue) Brettmann; grandfather of Jennifer, Julia and Daniel Morrison, Lauren, Brandon and Heather Bilbrey and Amy and Ryan Brettmann; brother of Lorraine and the late Melvin; brother-in-law of Dale Brettmann. He was the past president of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ Church Council, York Bandors, Sandburg Middle School P.T.A. and Elmhurst Jaycees. He had worked at ElmhurstChicago Stone Company for over 20 years and Soukup Hardware Store prior to that. He was a 1945 graduate of York Community High School and attended Hawthorne School. Celebration of Life 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19 at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 125 Church, Elmhurst. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be appreciated for the church.
