I’ve been hearing talk about how Iraq is becoming another Vietnam.
Actually I think Iraq is the opposite of Vietnam.
What we feared in Vietnam was the domino effect: that Communism would sweep through Southeast Asia, perhaps all the way to India.
Our effort prevented this from happening.
Now we are on the other side.
We are trying to start a domino effect–not of Communism but of democracy.
