Norman A. “Bud” Hershey, of Elmhurst, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2003. “Bud” was born Dec. 4, 1915 in Elmhurst. Norman “Bud” was a WW II Veteran, having served as a Tech 5th Grade in the 3483rd Ord Mam Co. Norman joined Illinois Bell Telephone Company where he was employed as a PBX installer for nearly 30 years. Touched with a wanderlust, after his retirement in 1974, he crisscrossed the country four times a year, keeping in touch with family and friends near and far. Norman is survived by three children, Duane, Ronald (Margaret) and June (Bill Schneider) Hershey; two grandchildren, Erin and David; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Elizabeth, nee Ledbury; his brothers Wilbur and Dwight and his sisters, Dorothy and Marion, and his twin, Norma. Services are private.
