Walter E. Keller, 95, of Los Angeles, CA, formerly of Chicago, IL. Beloved husband of the late Helen, nee Kostelnicek; son of the late William and Amelia Keller; preceded in death also by two brothers and a sister; survived by his sisters-in-law, Mary, Julie, Betty and Rose; fond uncle and great-uncle to many. Walter was a WWII U.S. Army Vet in the Normandy Invasion. He received the Purple Heart. Owned golf driving ranges in the Chicago area prior to his move to Los Angeles. Owned and Operated “Walter Keller’s Golf” shop in Westwood, CA for over 40 years. Member of the PGA, Southern California Section USGA, PGA Tour player, teacher, club maker, listed in Golf Digest’s list of “Most Influential People in Golf’s First 100 Years in the U.S.”, also promoted golf in the L.A. Unified School District since 1966. Member of the Riviera C.C. Visitation Monday, Dec. 22, 3 to 8 p.m. at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Rd., Mt. Prospect, IL.
