“I try to just be me. And as easy and as trite as that sounds, if you really think about it, it’s pretty hard to be just the person that you want to be.”
–Comic actor and talk-show host Wayne Brady shared with Q his secret for dealing with fame and success.
The double Emmy winner for “The Wayne Brady Show” (10 a.m. weekdays, WCIU-Ch. 26) feels he has to don several faces: “You have your public face. You have your face at home. You have your face when you’re dealing with guests. You have your face when you’re dealing with someone from the studio. You have your face when you’re dealing with someone on the street.
“So the best thing that I’ve tried to do, and the piece of advice that was handed to me many years ago by one of my first drama teachers, was just be myself.”
Brady, 31, added that in the last year or so, the person viewers have seen on his talk show “is more balanced out with the Wayne that I have to come home with.”
