Joan B. DeMonte, nee Heiser, age 77, of Apple River, IL, died December 21, 2003 at her granddaughters home after a long illness. Born March 17, 1926 in Chicago, IL, daughter of Charles and Mildred, nee Herr, Heiser. She enjoyed painting, crochet work, reading and being around her family and friends and laughing together. Employed as an insurance encoder for Allstate Insurance Company in Skokie, IL for 10 years. Member of St. Martha’s Catholic Church in Morton Grove, IL. Survived by three children, son, Dean (Madaline) Collins of Des Plaines, IL, daughter, Margaret (Patrick) Stiefel of Apple River, IL, son, Andrew (Sherry) DeMonte of Morton Grove, IL; six grandchildren, Kellie (Matt) Mahoney of Warren, IL, Michael (Brandi) Brown of Warren, IL, Barbara (Greg) Storteboom of Michigan, Andrew DeMonte of Morton Grove, IL, Diedre Stiefel of Apple River, IL and Joseph DeMonte of Morton Grove, IL; stepgrandchildren, Jacob Stiefel of Youngstown, Ohio and James (Julie) Radaszewski of Apple River, IL; four great-grandchildren. Preceded by her mother, Mildred Stafford; and one son, James DeMonte. Funeral Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, 10:30 a.m. at BartellLeamon Funeral Home. Father Anthony Pantyra officiating.
